Visitors to the Mond Bequest exhibition should be aware of how controversial the treatment of the bequest by the National Gallery has been. See "Beware of rich men bearing gifts" by Brian Sewell in the Evening Standard, 4 August 2006, and "The Mond Bequest: Unprincipled and Selective Treatment" by Selby Whittingham in The Jackdaw, October 2006 (www.thejackdaw.co.uk )
