Dreams in San Diego

Waking Dreams Banner showing Mary Magdalene by Frederick SandysThe San Diego Museum of Art has just opened Waking Dreams: The Art of the Pre-Raphaelites from the Delaware Art Museum. The emphasis is on Pre-Raphaelite art, but the exhibition covers the Arts And Crafts Movement and includes two chairs designed by William Morris and Dante Gabriel Rossetti. In total 130 paintings, watercolors, drawings, ceramics, jewellery, and furniture are on loan from the Delaware Art Museum, which boasts the "most significant" Pre-Raphaelite collection outside Great Britain.
