Steinberg at Dulwich

The Dulwich Picture Gallery website has gone wintry and rather silly, with a vertical ice-on-ice menu that is difficult to read. Its winter exhibition, which opened recently and continues until 15 February 2009, isn't any better: Saul Steinberg: Illuminations (title link). This is the first major retrospective of an American cartoonist who died in 1999 and "whose magic lit up the pages and covers of The New Yorker for six decades" according to the blurb. Admission is diabolical: adults £9, concessions £4. An overpriced bummer.
