Shanghai Treasures

Ren Xun - Portrait of bronze collector Wu Dacheng, face painted by Hu Qinhan (1892)Continuing today's Chinese theme, here's the latest exhibition at the British Museum in London. Treasures from Shanghai: ancient Chinese bronzes and jades opened yesterday and continues until 27 March, Room 2, admission free. The exhibits are borrowed from the Shanghai Museum collection and haven't been seen here before. This hand scroll with ink and colours on silk by Ren Xun shows bronze collector Wu Dacheng sitting amid his treasures (1892); the face was painted by Hu Qinhan.
