Tate Extension Is Go

Southwark Council has approved the proposed Tate Modern Extension Mk 2, designed by Swiss architects Herzog and de Meuron. It will cost an estimated £215m, which seems an enormous sum of money for building a glorified junk yard in the sky. Sir Nick must be hopping around like a spring lamb, hoping his new extension will finally knock Blackpool Illuminations off the top spot of UK tourist traps? Roll on 2012, eh, Sir Nick?
