Charlotte's Web

The work of illustrators may not fetch the millions of pounds that badly painted daubs on canvas do (CLICK for an example), but Garth Williams' original cover art for the children's book Charlotte's Web by E.B. White fetched a very respectable £97,000 ($155,000) at a recent New York auction, a new record for the artist. The buyer is a New York collector who wishes to remain anonymous.
