Michelangelo's Nude

Time for some real art from one of the great masters: Michelangelo Buonarroti. His A male Nude, sketched in black chalk, comes up for auction at Christie's Old Masters and 19th Century Art Evening Sale on Tuesday 5 July in London, estimated value £3m to £5m. It's one of only 24 sheets of preparatory sketches for his lost commission of The Battle of Cascina. (Leonardo da Vinci got the job.) This is the last of those sketches still in private hands, and it is the first time it has come up for auction in 30 years. Click the title link for more info.
