Southbank Mosaics

I've complained to the BBC about its website reporters taking the weekend off and leaving the office boy in charge. Here's a case in point. Today at 16:35 hours, Auntie announced "Mosaics made by young offenders as part of their rehabilitation have gone on display at a workshop in south London" (CLICK). That gave us all 25 minutes to belt round to Southbank Mosaics in Waterloo Road for its open weekend, which was 1-2 October! However, not all is lost. You can see an online gallery of work by young offenders at the Southbank Mosaics website (title link). This rather fine example is Songs of Experience. There's also a skull that looks like the work of Damien Hirst. I didn't know he was a young offender. Middle-aged one, more like it. And if you're in London you'll find mosaics in Centaur Street and Carlisle Lane and outside Waterloo Station.
