NGA Images

To mark its 71st anniversary, The National Gallery of Art in Washington DC has launched NGA Images, a major online resource of more than 20,000 open access digital images, up to 3,000 pixels each, available free of charge for download and use. You can also create a "lightbox", your own collection of NGA images which you may share via e-mail or copy to social media sites. You will need to register to download pictures. I chose Jean-Honoré Fragonard's beautiful Young Girl Reading (c. 1770) which would be better entitled "Young Lady Reading", because she is nubile, literate and wearing an expensive dress.
