Pour Paintings

The Shizaru Gallery in Mayfair, London, has opened Pour, an exhibition of Pour Paintings by New York based artist Holton Rower, shown in the UK for the first time. This example bears the strange title If It Were Not for the Need for Lunch I Could Fly. It looks like a cut and polished semi-precious stone, but it's done by pouring cups of acrylic paint into geometric constructions that create complex abstract paintings bigger than any polished stone.
