The London Sale
In celebration of the Queen's Diamond Jubilee, London 2012 and all things British, Christie's auction house in South Kensington has been holding an extended exhibition for its one-off themed auction The London Sale. Tomorrow is sale day and already a 1966 Routemaster bus is parked outside the premises, estimated value £20,000 to £30,000. Inside there are 7 outfits worn by Margaret Thatcher in the 1970s, the above oil painting Terminal 2, Heathrow by wildlife artist David Shepherd (£3,000 - £5,000), a painting of St Paul's Cathedral from the River Thames (1883) by John Atkinson Grimshaw (£150,000 - £200,000), a plaster maquette of London Zoo's Guy the Gorilla and various other items too numerous to mention (CLICK).
