Libyan Sibyl in Bedford

A small section of Michelangelo's fresco on the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel in the Vatican has been recreated in Bedford, England. Coffee-shop owner Kevin Kavanagh commissioned artist Iain Carstairs to paint Michelangelo's Libyan Sibyl on the side of his shop, using pigment paint on lime plaster. The work took took three months and cost about £12,000. Owner and artist are both chuffed with the result (CLICK). It looks good. I wonder what the Pope will make of his Sibyl adorning a coffee shop.
