From the Shadows

The Royal Academy of Arts in London has opened a reappraisal of one of its RAs. From the Shadows: The Prints of Sydney Lee RA runs until 26 May. This display of over 50 prints and 2 major paintings shows Lee's contribution to the history of British printmaking and drags him out of obscurity. Above is his oil painting The Red Tower (1928). The show marks the launch of the first book on Lee, written by its curator, Professor Robert Meyrick, Head of the School of Art at Aberystwyth University.
