Lost Roman Art

The high quality of art in the doomed cities of Pompeii and Herculaneum is almost frightening. Ignore the pornographic subject of this sculpture Pan with a She-goat (pre-AD 79) and examine the quality of the sculpting. Life and death in Pompeii and Herculaneum opens at the British Museum in London on 28 March (CLICK).
