Gromit Raises £2.3m

In yesterday's auction, Nick Park's Oscar-winning pup Gromit raised £2.3m for Bristol Children's Hospital. Bids for Gromit Unleashed came from far and wide and threatened to crash the online bidding. Sir Peter Blake's Gromit fetched $45,000. As I suspected, the Buzz Lightyear Gromit from Pixar Animation Studios was the top lot, making $105,000. The money raised by the auction goes to Wallace and Gromit's Grand Appeal in aid of the Bristol Children's Hospital Charity. CLICK for a BBC News video of the auction.
