Wild Brazil
If you didn't view the second episode of Wild Brazil on BBC Two this evening, you'll be wondering what on earth this image shows. Christmas tree? No. It's a termite mound in Brazil’s cerrado, lit up by glow worms. These are carnivorous little beasts that light up to catch termites flying from their mounds to found new colonies. The termites are attracted by the luminosity and are grabbed by the glow worms as soon as they are near enough. If you haven't viewed this series, you still have time to catch Episode 1 on iPlayer.
