Guardi's Venice

Christie’s has announced that Francesco Guardi's Venice, the Bacino di San Marco with the Piazzetta and the Doge's Palace (c. 1780) is up for grabs for the first time in over a century and will go under the hammer in the Old Master & British Paintings Evening Sale in London on 8 July, estimate £8-10m ($13-16.5m). It hasn't been seen in public since 1954. First it goes on a grand tour to Paris, Moscow, New York and Hong Kong. It will be on public display in London from 5 to 8 July (CLICK).
