Yesterday the Ben Uri Gallery in St John’s Wood opened Max Weber: An American Cubist in Paris and London, 1905-15. Russian-American Jewish artist Max Weber is credited in the USA with introducing Cubism to New York. There's very little of his work in the UK. The University of Reading has loaned Ben Uri Gallery 14 rare paintings for this exhibition. Shown is Weber's Apollo in Matisse's Studio (1908).
