Looking a picture of health, Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge
, marked St Patrick's Day by presenting shamrocks to the Irish Guards. This has been a tradition since 1901, when it was inaugurated by Queen Alexandra. The Queen Mother led the ceremony during her life. It is always a senior female member of the Royal Family who leads the ceremony. Note the Duke of Cambridge in the background, fiddling with the shamrocks on his cap. He wears the uniform of the Irish Guards, because he is Royal Colonel of the Regiment. CLICK
