Duane Hanson

Wonders will never cease. Tomorrow the Serpentine Sackler Gallery in Hyde Park opens an exhibition that is actually worth seeing: Duane Hanson, whose life-sized realistic sculptures of ordinary Americans dazzled the world. Shown is his Children Playing Game (1979). The Gallery claims this is Hanson's first survey show in London since 1997. However I recall that Sotheby's S|2 London mounted an exhibition of his sculptures only last year (CLICK). Not that I'm grumbling. CLICK for the Serpentine Gallery website.
