Smug! Mind you, it's not all grand buildings. One of the noteworthy pieces of architecture in my neck of the woods is a huge barrel-vaulted bus shelter (for double-deckers) built over the entrance to an underground station. It's the use of barrel-vaulting that makes it worth seeing, not the beauty of the thing.
