Freud Breaks Record
This gloomy impressionistic caricature of Bruce Bernard by Lucian Freud fetched £7.8m at Christie's sale of post-war and contemporary art in London recently. According to BBC News, this is the highest price ever paid for a work by a living European artist. I guess it's another one for the vault. What tasteless jerk would want this uninspiring mess hanging on his living-room wall?
