Met. Stolen Paintings

The Art & Antiques Unit of London's Metropolitan Police has an excellent online database of stolen works of art. The title link takes you to its gallery of paintings. Nicholas Vennevault's Temptation of Adam, valued at £6,500 (Item No LSAD 52065), is one of the paintings on display. John Atkinson Grimshaw's masterly Lane by Moonlight, valued at £80,000, is another. This gallery is well worth a dip. Who knows?
