MOD's Art Collection
Did you know that the UK Ministry of Defence (MOD) keeps and maintains an art collection which contains over 1.500 items of fine art and antiques: paintings, drawings, engravings, photographs, clocks and furniture? All these treasures are owned by the taxpayer. The collection was began in the early 19th century by successive First Lords of the Admiralty and Admiralty Secretaries donating or bequeathing artworks to the Admiralty Collection. So the Royal Navy is well represented. Curators note: MOD is keen to have works in its collection put on public display (with safeguards). Click the title link.
