April Fool?

Glasgow International LogoAccording to BBC News, organisers of the Glasgow International (GI) contemporary art festival, which opens on 11 April, have rejected an "art" video by Algerian Adel Abdessemed that shows animals being slaughtered by means of sledge hammers! This has got to be an April Fool's gag. I mean, GI organisers have had the good taste to recognize that film of animals having their brains mashed with sledge hammers isn't aesthetically pleasing and can't be considered a work of art? Sounds far fetched to me, especially when IG commissioned Wilhelm Sasnal's video of a naked female punk singer warbling an "elegy" for murdered Polish student Angelika Kluk! Art? You're joking!
