Another Side of Bacon

Not to be outdone by Christie’s London sale of a Bacon in June (CLICK) Sotheby's in London has announced that it too has a Bacon for auction in its Evening Sale of Contemporary Art on 1 July: Study for Head of George Dyer (1967) Bacon's boyfriend. Sotheby's claims this is "an outstanding example of Bacon at the height of his powers". Spout bull like that for long enough and you start to believe it. So do the punters. I'll stick with Bugs Bunny. There's more art in one of his paws than there is in this mentally disturbed evocation of ambivalence.
