Monet Breaks Record

This evening, at auction at Christie's in London, Claude Monet's Le Bassin Aux Nympheas (1919) fetched a new world record for a Monet: £40.9m. That's £36.5m top bid plus tax. Ho hum. Into a vault for another 80 years?
