The Aguru Dome
This may look like science-fiction, but it's the latest thing in portraiture: the Aguru Dome. With the subject's head locked in place and with lights flashing from 546 directions, 93 computers digitize the face in extraordinary detail. Millions of polygons capture the reflectance and translucence of the subject's skin. The makers - Aguru Images - claim that the captured images are good enough to allow movie stars to appear in scenes which were never filmed. Hollywood is interested!
