Grand Theft Auto Killing
BBC Newsbeat reports that Thailand has withdrawn copies of Grand Theft Auto IV after a Bangkok high school student admitted killing a taxi driver "to find out if it was as easy in real life to rob a taxi as it was in the game" (Captain Veerarit Pipatanasak, Bangkok police). Apparently not: the taxi driver fought back and the 18-year-old knifed him to death. The release of Rockstar Games' Grand Theft Auto IV in the UK also sparked violence (CLICK). Isn't it time we banned all video games that glorify realistic violence in an urban setting? Killing dragons with swords is fun; killing human beings on the streets sets a deadly example.
