René Gruau & Dior

For those of you who are keen on elegant line drawings and Haute Couture, here's a forthcoming treat at the Embankment Galleries in Somerset House, London: Dior Illustrated: René Gruau and the Line of Beauty. This celebration of the renowned illustrator René Gruau (1909-2004), who influenced a generation of fashion illustrators, opens on 10 November and flounces on until 9 January 2011. The drawing here is René Gruau's Miss Dior (1960). Admission costs £6 or £5 for silver surfers (83%).
