Tisch, Tisch Update

In January I reported on that public-spirited citizen who dropped her pants to show her contempt for Clyfford Still's abstract expressionist daub 1957-J-No. 2 in Denver, USA (CLICK). Carmen Tisch, now 37, pleaded guilty to criminal mischief. (She punched and scratched the daub before dropping her pants to show her contempt.) According to her mum, Carmen is an alcoholic. The court sentenced Carmen to two years of mental health probation and ordered her to undergo alcohol treatment as a condition of her probation (CLICK). Restoring the painting will cost an estimated $10,000. That's a small price to pay for all the publicity she gave the Clyfford Still Museum. Arts Council England should invite her over here in two years time to publicize its worst displays with some interactive punching, scratching and knickers dropping.
