Northumberlandia

Meet Northumberlandia, the world's largest human form sculpted into the landscape. This huge reclining female nude at Cramlington in Northumberland is 1,300 feet long (396m) and 100 feet high. Designed by US landscape artist Charles Jencks to utilize rock, clay and soil extracted from the largest open-cast coal mine in England, on land owned by Viscount Ridley, it has taken two years to complete. On Wednesday it will be officially opened to the public by Princess Anne. What appear to be two spare breasts on the left are viewing platforms. CLICK for a BBC video.
