Extreme Unction 2

Back in August I reported on The Fitzwilliam Museum's appeal to raise £3.9m to buy Nicolas Poussin’s Extreme Unction under HM Government’s Acceptance-in-Lieu scheme (CLICK). Success! The Museum is delighted to announce it has the readies, thanks to a grant of about £3m from the Heritage Lottery Fund and almost £1m in donations from the public and charitable organisations. The painting goes on display in the Octagon Gallery from early December (CLICK).
