Liverpool Biennial

They say police constables tend to look like schoolboys as you get older. With me it's curators looking like schoolgirls. This chubby kid is Mai Abu ElDahab, who has been appointed joint curator (with Anthony Huberman) of the Liverpool Biennial 2014 (CLICK and be patient). She's from Cairo, currently living in Brussels, and has been curating shows since 2007. Anthony Huberman is a curator and writer from Geneva currently based in the Big Apple. It is down to these two to commission the most gimmicky international "artists" they can find for next year's Biennial. Sneer as one might, the 2012 Biennial attracted over 690,000 visitors and contributed £20m to Liverpool’s economy. Who says bad art doesn't pay?
