Chinese Art at V&A

Yesterday the V&A Museum in London opened its autumn biggy: Masterpieces of Chinese Painting 700 - 1900. This ambitious survey of one of the world's greatest artistic traditions "brings together the finest examples of Chinese painting from the beginning of the 8th to the end of the 19th century, from small-scale intimate works by monks and literati through to scroll paintings over 14 metres long, many of which have never before been seen in the UK" (CLICK). Shown is a detail from Chen Rong's Nine Dragons (1244). This really is a once-in-a-lifetime exhibition, so the cost of admission isn't too bad for adults at £12, but £10 for silver surfers is OTT.
