The Kelpies

Today sees the official topping-out ceremony for Andy Scott's massive sculptures The Kelpies, at 100ft the tallest pieces of public art in the UK. The heads of these mythical water spirits were modelled on Clydesdale horses. Their £5m cost is just a small part of the £43m Helix redevelopment project between Falkirk and Grangemouth in central Scotland, funded by The Big Lottery Fund, Falkirk Council and Scottish Canals.
