Homo antecessor

Meet Homo antecessor, the first humanoid to settle Europe some 900,000 years ago. This representation was created by Elizabeth Daynes, a French paleo-artist, for the Museum of Human Evolution in Spain, near the archaeological site of Atapuerca. The artwork has been added to nine other sculptures by the same artist to show the complexity of human evolution. It is estimated that Homo antecessor's cranium held a brain superior to 1000cc (CLICK).
