Bethlem Museum

A new museum and art gallery opens in south London tomorrow at a cost of £4 million. The Bethlem Museum of the Mind in Bethlem Royal Hospital, Monks Orchard Road, aims to record the lives and experience of people with mental health problems and celebrate their achievements (CLICK). The statues flanking the entrance staircase are from the old Bedlam building. the oldest psychiatric institution in the world, treating patients for nearly eight centuries.
