RA Summer Show
The Royal Academy of Arts annual Summer Exhibition opens on 8 June and limps along until 16 August. Shown is a photo of the Central Hall with Matthew Darbyshire's sculpture Doryphoros. You can blame the lurid colours on co-coordinator Michael Craig-Martin RA, who thought the old show needed a tart-up. What it really needs is a new clutch of selectors. 1,200 works were handpicked from over 12,000 entries. I suspect they choose the worst entries to make the RA's tripe look good. Admission costs £12 or £11 for silver surfers (CLICK).
