London Film Festival

The British Film Institute's 50th London Film Festival, supported by The Times, has been officially launched. Selected movies - 181 features and 131 shorts - will run from 18 October to 2 November. Forest Whitaker, the actor who plays the slimy police investigator hunting Vic in The Shield, stars as Idi Amin in Giles Foden's The Last King Of Scotland, directed by Kevin Macdonald. This movie opens the Festival. The clips look good.
