Golden Joystick Awards
More than half a million gamers voted for this year's Golden Joystick Awards, the bees knees of games software awards in the UK. Half a million is a convincingly large electorate. Bethesda Softworks' role-playing fantasy game Elder Scroll IV: Oblivion grabbed three awards, including the top prize: Ultimate Game of the Year. If you need to ask why I'm including this item as arts news, you need to wake up to the fact that some of our best contemporary artists are working with pixels, not paintbrushes. Don't believe me?
