Museum of Childhood

Fauntleroy Suit and HatHow's this for continuity? From ... er ... to the offspring. The V&A Museum of Childhood in Bethnal Green, London, has undergone a £4.7m revamp and is due to reopen on Saturday 9 December, just in time for the Christmas school holidays. This museum houses the UK's national collection of childhood-related objects, dating back as far as the 16th century: dolls, teddies, toys, games and the largest British collection of dolls' houses. A must for bored kiddies. (Don't mention dolls' houses to the boys. Tell 'em about the toy cars.)
