Virgin Births Expected

Flora at Chester ZooHow's this for a Christmas story? Chester Zoo in the UK is expecting a miraculous happy event: the virgin births of eight baby Komodo dragons. For the technically minded, this is called parthenogenesis. Zoo curator Kevin Buley said, "We will be on the look-out for shepherds, wise men and an unusually bright star in the sky over Chester Zoo." The proud mum-to-be is Flora (named after the goddess or the margarine?).
