A woman - yes, a female of the opposite gender - has been accepted into the bewhiskered ranks of Yeoman Warders of Her Majesty's Royal Palace and Fortress the Tower of London, better known as Beefeaters! This is a break with 522 years of tradition! But don't all rush at once, girls. To even be considered for this job you must have served a minimum of 22 years in H.M. armed forces and have gained both a long service medal and a good conduct medal. I guess growing a beard isn't in the job description, after all.
