Multiple Masters

Here's the opposite end of the spectrum from initial sketches: reproductions of finished masterpieces by means of lithographs, etchings, engravings or photography. Such copies often require as much mastery of technique as the original work. Hence the title of a new exhibition at Christ Church Picture Gallery, Oxford, UK, Multiple Masters: French Prints after Paintings, 1700 - 1900, which continues until 15 April 2007.
