The Air is on Fire
Today saw the opening of The Air is on Fire at the Cartier Foundation for Contemporary Art in Paris. This is a complex exhibiton which offers an insight into the mind of one of our best bleeding-heart film directors, David Lynch, presenting a lifetime of doodles, photographs and film clips. The two pictures shown give a flavour of the disturbing content. The picture on the right - Do you want to know what I really think? - is from the year 2005, which suggests that Lynch "art" hasn't progressed beyond that of an emotionally disturbed adolescent. Perhaps that's the condition you need to maintain in order to be a sincere, socially aware, movie director. The exhibition continues until 27 May 2007. Don't give up the day job, David.
