Andy Goldsworthy at YSP
Last Sunday's The Observer published an article on English artist Andy Goldsworthy by Tim Adams, who interviewed Andy in one of the galleries at Yorkshire Sculpture Park. Here, Andy and his teams of labourers are preparing sheep pens, dry-stone walls, a coppiced dome and all sorts of environmentally friendly thingies for his latest exhibition, from 31 March to 6 January 2008. The article is more lucid than most art witterings and it offers a potted biography of Andy as well as a few gems from the lad himself, such as a polite put-down of Damien Hirst. One point I noted is that Andy's books are reportedly the biggest-selling art books in the UK. His latest, Enclosure, is published by Thames & Hudson in April.
