Redbridge Green Fair

The Redbridge Green Fair is a biennial event, and this is its year. You'll find it in Valentines Park's Melbourne Field, Ilford, on Sunday 27 May, 11.30am to 7.00pm, admission free. Witches covens, vegan nosh, save-the-whale, second-hand books, wildlife clubs; you name it. If it's green, earnest and slightly wacky, it turns up at this fair. A brilliant children's steel band entertained visitors two years ago, and I got some free energy saving light bulbs and ate a veggie burger. The big question is: Will there be a stall selling vegan condoms? (You don't want to know what they put in the ordinary ones!) This year the fair has its own website (title link) with an unusual wallpaper of dried, cracked mud. Looking forward to the English drought, are we?
