The Art Fund offers £5m

An independent charity The Art Fund has recently announced an offer of £5m to UK regional galleries, in order to promote the work of foreign international artists. Cindy Sherman's Untitled #400 is an example of what The Art Fund has already helped to buy. £5m is a sensible amount to spread around, because our regional galleries can't go overboard and buy big-name artworks at insane cost. They will need to select carefully from up-and-coming artists who have established an international reputation, but who aren't charging silly prices.
