Goliath Gets A Kicking
A 21-year-old man took exception to Ottavio Vannini's The Triumph of David (1640) in the Milwaukee Art Museum and started kicking Goliath's head. The fact that he removed his shirt prior to the attack suggests he intended to give Goliath a monumental kicking, but he was arrested. The damage can be repaired. I hope Tate Modern is prepared for this sort of thing when Doris builds her stack (see Good Friday's post). There might well be some serious Health & Safety issues.
